Participation in international programs

National Aviation University, Institute of Air Navigation in particular, participates in many international projects and programs. Among the largest the following should be marked.

Tempus – the European Union’s Program for the University Studies – is an external program of the EU that supports modernisation of higher education systems in the EU partner countries and neighbouring states. Today, this program is open for countries of Eastern Europe, Central Asia, Western Balkans, North Africa and the Middle East.

The European Union’s Erasmus Mundus programme aims to enhance quality in higher education through scholarships and academic cooperation between Europe and the rest of the world.
Erasmus Mundus comprises three actions:

  • Joint programmes
  • Partnerships
  • Attractiveness projects

European External Action Service. The EEAS is the European Union’s diplomatic service. It helps the EU’s foreign affairs chief – the High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy – carry out the Union’s Common Foreign and Security Policy.

CORDIS is the Community Research and Development Information Service.
It is the European Commission’s primary public repository and portal to disseminate information on all EU-funded research projects and their results in the broadest sense.
The website and repository include all public information held by the Commission (project factsheets, publishable reports and deliverables), editorial content to support communication and exploitation (news, events, success stories, magazines, multilingual “results in brief” for the broader public) and comprehensive links to external sources such as open access publications and websites.

The EWENT (East-West European Network on higher Technical education) programme can be considered as an element of common East-West European collaboration and partnership. The project aims mainly at launching a research and education network comprising HEIs from the European Union, Belarus, Moldova and Ukraine. EWENT project was selected under Erasmus Mundus Action II, which manages a scholarship programme funded by the European Commission. The EWENT programme is focused on engineering and technology fields of study. The programme objective is to promote and transfer the exchange of persons, knowledge and skills at higher education level.

Coursera a for-profit educational technology company founded by computer science professors Andrew Ng and Daphne Koller from Stanford University that offers massive open online courses (MOOCs). Coursera works with universities to make some of their courses available online, and offers courses in physics, engineering, humanities, medicine, biology, social sciences, mathematics, business, computer science, and other subjects. Coursera has an official mobile app for iOS and Android. As of October 2014, Coursera has 10 million users in 839 courses from 114 institutions. It provides universal access to the world’s best education, partnering with top universities and organizations to offer courses for anyone to take, for free.
